The cause of homelessness is lack of housing.

March 2nd 2016“

The cause of homelessness is lack of housing.

“Jonathan Kozol. U.S Educationalist“

Housing is a human right. There can be no fairness or justice in a society in which some live in homelessness, or in the shadow of that risk, while others cannot even imagine it.”

Housing A National Scandal:

It is intrinsic to the sustainability of any social structure that people are adequately fed, clothed and housed. This may seem rather primitive and basic assertions that need no explanation or contradiction but of course in the last respect at the very least The Irish State is not providing for adequate housing for its citizens or intervening to ensure that such accommodation that is provided is adequate and affordable. They are also tolerating an epidemic of evictions by banks and vulture funds that they have not adequately regulated and permitted to engage in unfair commercial practices often in breach of both consumer protection and EU law.

An open letter to all Local Authorities in Ireland

25th February 2016
Subject: Homelessness and addressing Families housed in emergency accommodation.

A Chara,
Right2Homes is a not-for-profit organisation (Charity status pending) which endeavours to support and assist families who find themselves for various reasons either faced with imminent loss of the family home or having already lost their family home.
Most of these families are forced into the private rental accommodation sector and more are housed in emergency accommodation in B&B’s and Hotel’s.
Right2Homes recognises the challenges faced by this recent government and the new government following the impending general election, in the area of Social Housing provision, we also feel strongly that not enough has been done over the recent years, during the much heralded recovery, to address these issues.
With this in mind, and faced with increasing numbers of families either homeless or in temporary, emergency accommodation, in unsuitable circumstances, Right2Homes has brought together all the required elements,
•    Funding,
•    Project Management

Three weeks ago today, Justice Tony Hunt allowed the Lloyd’s one final attempt at completing a deal which was previously on the table with their lender Stepstone Mortgages, this latitude was to extend to the Lloyd’s until today.

Immediately following that hearing I initiated an appeal to various representative bodies and the general public at large, this Appeal has not been successful, in the main because I simply could not garner the support of the media and the various representative bodies to assist by raising awareness.
